C
urtis Bertrand (1920-2000) devoted his life to both appreciating and respectfully utilizing the precious and abundant natural resources of Cajun Country. It was not until the age of 60 that he discovered his God-given talent to bring to life the beauty of the South Louisiana landscapes that were so dear to him. Curtis was a lifelong resident of Saint Landry parish where he lived with his wife Edmay and reared their two children, Neal and Karen.

My dad did not want to be famous. He just wanted the freedom to express what was in his heart through his oil paintings. He was a fisherman and farmer, and his art falls into the categories of Bayouscapes, Farmscapes, and Pretty Flowers.
